pankunchi likes bread

As cute as that last layout was, I couldn't stand the colors much longer. So new one featuring a doodle of Pankunchi. Pankunchi is created by Sanrio and the local Sanrio store now carries some Pankunchi stationary, so cute! I hope this layout width isn't just enormous. I have a very large monitor so it looks good to me
I found out that Andrew can't call cell phones internationally from his grandmothers house. More sobbing ensues. It's only been a bit over a week and it's just felt like ages, it's been dragging on and on, uugh. I have too much free time now and nothing to do with it. If I play computer games my wrist starts to hurt, it hurts right now. I have had problems with it for a while now and it's pretty bad when I use the computer. I've got a lot of sewing projects to do, but I need to find good fabrics first.
On the bright side of things, my parents bought me a dress form! I love it! I dressed it up. I can not wait to finally start projects and have a form to use instead of constantly trying things on myself.

My car has been fixed and has been running very well. Although in the future it will need to go in and get some brackets replaced on the muffler so it doesn't fall off. It's been a great car, I've hardly had any issues with it. One time the battery died, but that was all. I try to take good care of it, and it gets me where I need to go. I'm sure I wouldn't mind having a hybrid or a vespa

It's June already? Yes, it's June and it is well beyond absurdly hot I returned from a moderately cool Pennsylvania and NYC to a scorching North Carolina. I enjoyed going home to visit my parents. Their pretty kitten is not a little kitten anymore, but a beautiful white and tabby adult cat who thinks she is still a kitten. We took the train in NYC for a short overnight trip to go see the Yoshida Brothers and do some shopping. From the station we grabbed the nearest food to eat quickly since we were on a tight schedule! We stopped in at the big Sanrio store, and surprisingly I didn't buy a single thing! I like more San-X characters than your standard Hello Kitty. Then we headed to Kinokuniya where I stocked up on Cutie, Kera, Gothic Lolita Bibles and sewing magazines. I also snagged an adorable shirt and Andrew only found one CD - I didn't find any! They didn't carry bands that I'm interested in except Dir en grey, Kaggra and Janne Da Arc which I have plenty of already. From there we headed to our hostel, which turned out to be exactly what we paid for It was $35 a night per person (hostels are generally inexpensive), and our room was a closet with a bed, shared bathrooms, and to top it all off - the walls on the rooms didn't even go all the way up to the ceiling! This was so they could easily ventilate each room without having to pay for air conditioning I assume. It was crummy, but it was a cheap and inexpensive place to sleep for one night in NYC. Not too bad of a place, honestly. From there we had to get all pretty for the concert - this was a nice concert, we couldn't just go in our street clothes, pshaw! We had time to walk to Kid Robot and buy some little toys. We tried to walk as much as possible and take taxis as little as possible since we're not familiar with the subway system. By this time I was getting a little cold in my little dress and decided I needed something warmer, but I didn't take anything! So we're in SOHO trying to find a reasonably priced sweater, which was just a complete joke. I just wanted a Macy's or something! Stupid fancy boutiques and their fancy priced items. I bought a wool sweater, but I won't ever wear it again so I would like to sell it to someone who will wear it and enjoy it. The theater was amazing! It was a dinner theater, and we had delicious food before the Yoshida Brothers played, yum!
Here are some recent photos. I also finished my corset! I'm so proud of it

a moment of peace?

Phew, a moment to sit down and try and do some web things! I don't even know where to start to try and catch up, I've been so busy. This whole month I've just been out and about everywhere - and ooh the gas prices
I've completely forgotten to mention that I was moving. I'm all settled in now besides some finishing touches and such. It's so much nicer here! It's a two bedroom and my friend will move in soon too. I like it.
So since I got everyone all excited for the pictures I suppose I can show them! They're sort of a disappointments though, most of them didn't come out well and most of the time I was walking and snapping pictures. Unfortunately my band photos also didn't come out too fantastic due to weird lighting at the shows and I don't have a fancy pants camera. Click the thumbnail to go to its album: Strut Fashion Show; local fashion designers display their fashion Eisley Show; Eisley, The Envy Corps, The Myriad, Verdera The Presidents of the United States of America; oh em gee I've loved this band since I was a kid, I was super excited to see them

I've been having great times, but I haven't had a break from the spending to try and build back up my funds We also did go to the beach. The weather was fantastic and the beach house we stayed in was lovely - it was our friends grandparents. I absolutely love being right on the beach, it's really relaxing. The island was also fairly small and not overpopulated - so the beach was literally OURS. There were washed up jellyfish everywhere though and I also got to go surfing! I only boogieboard, and have been wanting to surf for years, but didn't want to buy or rent a surf board.
This weekend is the little Animazement convention here in NC. I'm not super heavy into anime {I like a fair few series}, and I've never cosplayed, but I sometimes enjoy going. I like to stroll down artist alley, buy gadgets and music in the dealers room, and try to make some acquaintances with maybe some nice and normal people.
Bleh, I know this post is sort of unorganized - but also to continue with the traveling and spending of my precious moneys; next tuesday I am heading home {Pennsylvania} with Andrew for a week. There we are taking a train to NYC to see the Yoshida Brothers. We're very excited to see them, it's just been a whole month of awesome!
