sailing is tricky business

despairs ray - reddish
sore

This past weekend I went sailing! My friend has a little catamaran and we took it out to the lake for his first run. Oh, such trouble we had getting the mast up though! After multiple tries, and things not locking into place, we finally managed to get the mast up and from there on it was, well, smooth sailing wink We might be going to the beach with it this weekend, unless I have to work.

Speaking of work, I landed a job as an Embroidery Specialist at Educational Outfitters. They do all the embroidering on uniforms for schools, sports, etc. I start training tomorrow, but since I missed today for training, she wants me to work Saturday, but we planned to go to the beach! I think this job is a bit more important though, so we can postpone until next weekend. This job pays well, and I hope I can train hard and stick with it - it's a lot to learn. It actually pays more than what I make now, which is strange because I make a lot now as it is! The unfortunate thing about this job is that I have to reschedule flying home, because they had to have me for the two weeks I had already planned and PAID for my flight home crying So I had to shell out $180 to reschedule a flight later in August, and I had to make it a shorter trip too. It was either pay the fees to reschedule or not go home, and loose $400 because the flight was non refundable, boo. But all that aside, I guess I'm fairly happy. Well... except for the fact that I accidentally scheduled my flight for like... the day Andrew finally gets home from Taiwan. Oh well, it'll be two months without him, so what's one more week? Whatever.

catching up a little

metal gear solid 4 ost
very tired

I'm totally eating my roommates oreo cookies right now.
So! Um.. some new people moved in below my apartment and they're annoying... they slam every single door, which shakes my floor and the guy sings in the shower SO LOUD at 1:30am and 7am on the same day. Why are people so obnoxious? Seriously, how hard is it to be aware of other people living around you? I'm so tired of rude people... you don't need to slam doors...and I know they're slamming their bathroom doors, because they have the same apartment as mine and I can feel where the shake comes from that it is a bathroom door... and their front door. angry, grr

So business is a little slow lately, with the economy being so poor and gas being so high. There aren't many people spending their hard earned money on pretty corsets, so our production has slowed. I should pick up some hours elsewhere in the meantime, but I'm having a hard time readjusting to "job hunting". I've reluctantly picked up a few applications, from the Chocolate Bean and TGI Fridays. I honestly do not think I could be a good waitress though crying I think waiting so many tables at once would fluster me and mess me up continuously. I want something that keeps me moving though, I grow tired of sitting at the sewing machine very quickly. So we'll see how I do I guess.

This week was like movie week! Went to see a classic; Amelie, at a small theater with an out of focus projector. Then Friday night I went to see WallE which was absolutely fantastic. While purchasing tickets for WallE we saw they had some tickets left for The Dark Knight so we decided to do a double feature! We were at the theater from 9pm until 2am! Dark Knight was thrilling! Joker was very convincing, but hard to watch Heath play out his last role crying Two Face was very impressive, and by that I mean his acid face grossed me out! Didn't really manage to finish the tub of popcorn.... I felt sick after all that popcorn...

Continuing the weekend Megan and I went to Southpoint Mall to catch up with some friends and new faces and do some shopping and snacking. I found two shirts at Urban Outfitters and a plush and cup from other places and then I LEFT my bag in one of the stores!! I got all the way home until I realized I was missing it! No one else even noticed either, I was pretty upset. So I called them and someone was actually nice enough to turn it in! So I will have to go pick it up tomorrow.. it's just sort of way out of the way to go to Southpoint siigh.

happy summer time

mucc - libra
bored

Happy late 4th of July to you all hehe I had a fairly eventful holiday that included some BBQ's, geocaching, playing video games, getting rained on while trying to do fireworks, and some more BBQ. Honestly if I were to play out my events it would be rather long and boring because I don't have the "make exciting paragraph" skill. However I will say that I enjoyed geocaching at the lake on Saturday. One of the geocaches was a a rubber rat!
Geocaching can be explained at their website if you haven't yet heard about how amazing and fun it is. Geocaching sends you out and about in the city, woods, and neighborhoods in just about any country with coordinates you place into your GPS system to locate a "cache" where other people have hidden in water proof cases of all sizes all sorts of random objects. You take an object if you like, and replace with something else. It's such a healthy hobby! We usually do the ones out in the woods. I tend to feel silly trying to find the ones in the city, because everyone stares at the silly people prodding around a certain place for ten minutes or so. There's one in a tree in downtown Raleigh that continues to stump us. Oh..hoo no pun intended.

I found this weird flower!
