back in north carolina

My visit home was awesome, I had a great time. I got to see a lot of old friends and make some new friends! I went kayaking and hiking with my mom, and stargazed many nights on the rooftop sad Pennsylvania is beautiful and I'm happy to have grown up there in those mountains and rivers. Speaking of the river.... I dropped my CAMERA in the river! But it's okay! It dried out all fine, and it's working properly again - it just drained the battery so I only got to use it for a few days, haha. I believe I'll have a big picture post later, since I haven't been able to upload everything yet. I don't feel like I got to spend enough time in PA though! Only a week, baah.

So when I arrived at the airport back in NC Andrew came and picked me up! I think we stood there and hugged for five minutes and then kissed for another five minutes. Aaaahhh, two months is far too long to be without him - and next summer I refuse to sit around all alone. I've always wanted nothing more than to travel, but the flights are so expensive and getting more expensive. I've only been to Honduras and the Bahamas crying but I want to go everywhere! Anyhow, he did get me a few little goodies; trapper keeper type notepads, cute notepad, figurines, ragnarok art book, a movie soundtrack?, a Korean band(?) cd, and Rip Slymes Fun Fair CD, yee!

Monday, August 18th

last minute concert and visiting home

Friday night I got home from work late, of course, and scrambled to get ready and head out to Chapel Hill to see The Faint play! It was actually a really late planned show - since I hadn't been checking tour dates for bands lately so I didn't know they were playing until.... about 4 days before hand laugh out loud So I rushed and got there in time to jump in line right before the doors opened, and when I got inside I realized that I forgot my camera! crying For the first time ever, I forgot my camera... And it was such a GOOD SHOW! Waaaah, I am still sad... but I have the front row memoriiiies. Picked up a shirt and their new album.

Tomorrow morning I'm heading off to visit my family, yay! Aah, I miss beautiful Pennsylvania. The mountains, the wildlife, the scenery and waterfalls! Maybe I'll get to visit some friends too. My mom and I plan to go kayaking a lot - and maybe a hike or two.
I'll return to NC on the 25th and Andrew will freaking...finally.. be HOME. I grew so utterly tired of his absence very quickly. I swear if I hear that he has to go back to Taiwan again next summer to finish learning mandarin.... I'll...throw a tantrum like a small child angry, grr
I have a surprise for him, but really he should be the one with surprises for me.. like lots of goodies from Taiwan - but I'm pretty sure the only thing he got for me is an action figure and an art book.... more angry face angry, grr

I still have some packing to do! I leave you with a wintery picture, even though it is summer time! {I miss winter}

Monday, August 11th

sunburned and sick

This weekend Charlie and I went sailing again, only this time I got so sunburned! crying The sunblock wore off after I decided to jump in and go for a quick swim to cool off. Then of course, we didn't have the sunblock with us on the boat for me to reapply. My whole right side back, shoulders, arm and leg are all just so burnt and I spent all of the next day just laying around. I eventually got really sick later that night, but today I am feeling a good bit better so far.
There was a duck that would not leave me alone while we were setting up the boat and he had some feathers cut and a tag on his foot, so I named him Francis. When we came back from sailing, he returned! I don't really like ducks...

Chips Ahoy White Fudge Chunky cookies are my absolute favorite cookies now - I am in love with them sad
